On August 9th, 2015, the Green Valley Ranch CAB, Montbello Barbershop, LLC andShop Talk Live will partner to host the third annual Unity Celebration on the grounds of the Green Valley Ranch Rec Center from 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM. The purpose of the Unity Celebration is to take one day out the year to have fun, connect to our neighbors and local businesses, enjoy a free meal and celebrate our communities. Local businesses are encouraged to use this event to demo new products, sale products and services and say thank you to all the customers who have supported you throughout the year.

History

This event started in 2013. Montbello Barbers and Shop Talk Live sponsored a picnic that feed over 300 people for free. That event was hosted on the school grounds of Montbello High School. “While enjoying the day someone said, we should do this with Green Valley Ranch.”

In 2014 Shop Talk Live and Montbello Barbers partnered with the Green Valley Ranch CAB to host the event and witnessed the event grow more than 200%. See the highlights below.

2014 Event Highlights

Provided free meals to over 700 people, increased by 220%

Provided live music from 8 acts

Provide a Barbeque and Dessert Competition

First partnership with GVR

First inclusion of neighborhood dance and entertainment groups

Included vendors for 1st time, Over 35 Vendors sold their products

Added a water slide/jumpy castle for child entertainment.

2014 was awesome. We made great progress and set goals for an even better 2015.

I’ve documented the goals on the following page. We’d love to see your organization represented. There are three ways in which you can partner with your neighbors and participate. We are looking for Volunteers, Vendors or Sponsors.
